Four projects win OK
In one vote on Monday, the Gorham Planning Board approved 5-0 (Thomas Hughes and Corey Theriault absent) four commercial requests the board agenda listed as one consent agenda item.
The board granted Martin’s Point Health Care approval for a 12,600-square-foot medical office building at the intersection of routes 25 and 237.
Other firms receiving approvals were: East Coast Communications for a 3,200-square foot building expansion and site revision at 29 Cyr Drive; Odat Realty Holdings, a 13,600-square foot building expansion at 20 Sanford Drive; and East Coast Communications and Shaw Earthworks, an amendment to the New Portland Parkway subdivision off New Portland Road and Libby Avenue to increase impervious areas and to remove some areas from wetlands designation.
Tour the campus
The University of Southern Maine Office of Undergraduate Admission is hosting tours of its Gorham campus on upcoming Saturdays for prospective students and their families.
Saturday information sessions and Gorham campus tours are from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 26, Nov. 3, Nov. 9, Nov. 16, and Nov. 23. The sessions begin at Bailey Hall. Register online at

‘Fiddle-icious’ concert reminder
“Fiddle-icious” will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, in the McCormack Performing Arts Center at Gorham High School, 41 Morrill Ave. Tickets are available at the door for $10. The event is free for those under age 12.
U.S. taxpayer debt
The Bureau of Public Debt reported on Oct. 17 that the U.S. public debt was $17,075,590,107,963.57.
