Seafood chowder dinner – Saturday, Oct. 26, 5-8 p.m., Lions clubhouse, the former Bowery Beach Schoolhouse, off Two Lights Road, Cape Elizabeth. Chowder, biscuits, corn bread, soft drinks, (BYOB), dessert. Proceeds will benefit maintenance of the Schoolhouse and Lions Club charities. $10, $5; chowder to go $5.
VFW meal – Wednesday, Oct. 30, 5-6:30 p.m., VFW Post 932, 50 Peary Terrace, South Portland. Home-style meatloaf, baked potatoes, veggies, rolls and dessert. $7.
Free meal – Wednesday, Oct. 23, 5306 p.m., My Place Teen Center, 755 Main St, Westbrook. Sponsored in collaboration with Wayside Food Programs and hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church and the teen center. Use Foster Street entrance; handicapped accessible.
