Recently I spoke to a Westbrook native, a man of 50 or so, who is supporting James Tranchemontagne for mayor, as I am.

He put it very well: “James has more adult life ahead of him than behind him. We need new blood to lead the city of Westbrook!”

I couldn’t agree more and I’m not just focusing on youth.

James Tranchemontagne, chef and owner of Frog and Turtle Restaurant, has business experience, talent, family values, a well-known charitable heart, and vision.

He sees the great potential Westbrook has if it were marketed well. He wants to see Westbrook become a business-friendly city that is vibrant in arts and music. He has already brought Bands on the Boardwalk to Westbrook.

He hopes when he is elected to transform the code department to a business-friendly model, one that encourages smart development and helps developers plan for a stellar future Westbrook.

The up-and-coming younger couples in town, those at the start of their productive adult lives, see a Mayor James Tranchemontagne as a change-maker, one who wants to see Westbrook succeed as much as they do and will strive to make Westbrook “the place to be.”

Our older voters who are distressed by changes made to the city over time want a frugality and common sense in city government that has been lost.

There are many more reasons James will make an outstanding mayor. For one, his motto is “Let’s put the ‘WE’ back into Westbrook!”

Vote for James Tranchemontagne for mayor of Westbrook on Nov. 5.
