LISBON — The Route 196 Steering Committee, Town Council and Planning Board will conduct a joint meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Lisbon Community School to discuss and review the final draft of the Route 196 Master Plan in preparation for formally presenting the plan to Town Council.
The Master Plan was developed to help the community identify the vision and priorities for revitalization, economic growth, and community character.
Highlights of the Plan include a vision for Route 196 in the long term, to compliment the Comprehensive Plan; description of the desired image and character for each section of the corridor; visual illustrations for initiatives such as improving the Lisbon Falls village corridor, and ideas for building facades, and streetscape improvements; identification of community priorities to aid in decision-making and determine the town’s next steps towards image and revitalization.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
