The 163rd Fryeburg Fair kicked off Sunday with displays of agriculture and thrill rides.
The fair showcases more than 3,000 animals and has the usual fall offerings: harness racing, pig scrambles, exhibition halls and more than 50 rides on the midway.
The event typically draws about 200,000 people a year. Tickets are $10 for adults and ages 65 and over are free. Kids under age 12 are also free.
The fair is Maine’s final agricultural show of 2013.
