Japanese automaker Nissan recently introduced a new generation of Versa sedans but did not include the usual hatchback version. This was because Nissan had a plan: to introduce a hatchback version that would be completely different from the sedan. And Nissan did just that — its new hatchback also has its own name, the Note. Not surprisingly, then, the new Versa Note is quite different than its sedan version. It bears a unique design that was engineered to be much more aerodynamic. Even the undercarriage features devices that make the air split more efficiently as the car moves through it. The designers of the Note also spent time creating a roomier interior with good storage space and more headroom. Under the hood is a fuel efficient four-cylinder engine hooked to a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. Both still run with front-wheel drive. Nissan says the Note is the most efficient car in its category.
