SOUTH PORTLAND — A documentary screening, lecture and merengue concert highlight the “Hola Republica Dominicana!” festival beginning at 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at Southern Maine Community College.

Hosted by the college and Portland and South Portland Sunrise Rotary clubs, the festival is a fundraiser for scholarships for health-care providers in the Dominican Republic and international and multi-cultural students attending SMCC.

Festival admission is $20, $10 for students and free for children 12 and under. Tickets and more information are available at breakwater-rotary.org.
