The Anderson Road neighborhood in Sebago is holding its 6th annual benefit cookout at 516 Anderson Road from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. The party is open to the public, rain or shine.
The event is traditionally the biggest annual fundraiser for the Sebago Food Pantry. Donations of canned and non-perishable food items or money is appreciated. Last year, $1,200 was raised. Cash donations are preferred. With the economy, the amount of families needing the help from the food pantry has doubled in the last couple of years.
The party will be held at Corrine and Dick Aucoin’s home. Bring a dish to share. Hot dogs and soft drinks are donated as well as paper goods.
Phil Melanson, known as Reco-ve-ree the Clown, will perform, making balloon animals and sharing funny stories. The Sebago Lions Club has donated two large tents, tables and chairs. Local band, “The Primitive Man,” will provide entertainment.
