Busy Labor Day

Back to business for us all, but if the weather stays this warm, beach visits will still be popular. Labor Day weekend, was, for the most part, gorgeous and enjoyed by many, judging by the boat traffic on Long Lake.

Choices

To make a long story short, thanks to Gov. Paul LePage, school districts had the pleasure of choice when it came to which laptop to choose. The schools had several bids to choose from. SAD 61 decided on the Macbook Air for the middle and high school students. In addition to having all the perks of the new technology available, they have a longer battery life and are lighter. There are mandatory meetings being held for families and students before the laptops are handed out to students. All meetings are to be held at Lake Region High School throughout September. Check with the school or your child’s backpack, a sometime scary proposition, for the dates and times.

Fire Department Fundraiser

Join your neighbors in supporting our wonderful fire department at the third annual “Fire in the Hole” Golf Scramble Fundraiser at the Naples Country Club on Sunday, Sept. 15.
