TOGUS
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs invites all those who assist, serve, treat or interact with veterans and their families on a regular basis to participate in a special workshop on the Fully Developed Claims Program, hosted by the Togus VA Regional Office.
Submission of a “fully developed claim” is the fastest way for veterans to receive decisions on their benefit claims.
These workshops are designed specifically for all of VA’s partners and stakeholders who help veterans and their families with VA benefit claims. The workshops provide an opportunity to learn more about the FDC Program and how to encourage and help Veterans file FDCs.
Under the FDC Program, veterans submit all available evidence, such a private medical records, together with their application for benefits. With this evidence in hand at the beginning of the claims process, VA is able to complete their claims in about half the time of traditional claims.
The workshop will be held 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Togus Building 210.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
