AUGUSTA — The Maine Business Leadership Network (MEBLN), in partnership with the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, has announced two upcoming regional employer forums focused on the benefits to businesses in hiring people with disabilities.
The Biddeford forum will take place at Volk Packaging on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon, at 11 Morin St. (Biddeford Industrial Park).
The Auburn forum will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Procter & Gamble, 2879 Hotel Road.
“We view our role as that of a catalyst and a ‘connecting point’ in the promotion of dialogue and sharing of best practices between employers, in a peer-to-peer setting,” said Jim Baumer, the Maine BLN director. “After successful forums in Aroostook County and Bangor in June, we are excited to be hosting our southern and central Maine forums this September.”
For more information, call Baumer at 215-1492.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
