MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — Evangeline (Angie) Georgeo, 88, of Mount Pleasant, wife of the late John Georgeo, died August 28, 2013, at Hospice of Charleston.

Angie was born in Tampa, FL to Savas and Lucia Pipinos Canacaris. She grew up in Bath, Maine and graduated from Morse High School. She attended Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1945, she married John Georgeo and moved to Charleston, SC after WWII. She and her husband John owned and operated the Fork Restaurant in Mount Pleasant. Angie eventually worked and retired from G & M Enterprises at Roper Hospital. She was devoted to her husband, children, and extended family and was cherished by all.

She is survived by her daughters: Evangeline Becky (Stephen) Butler, Alexandra (John) Allen, and Faye Georgeo; her grandsons: Christian and Michael Butler; her four great-grandchildren: Evangeline Leigh and Michael Louis Butler, and Casey and Kali Jo Carden; her nieces: Lisa (Gerald) Cauthen of Charleston, Andrea (Jim) Lowry of Mt. Pleasant, and Leonora (Leroy) Espania of Honolulu, HI; her nephews: Stanley Georgeo of Jacksonville, FL and Christopher Canacaris Mathews; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother John Canacaris and her sister Marion.

The family will receive visitors at 5 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013, at The Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity with the Trisagion Service at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend her Funeral Service on Monday, September 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. Entombment will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
