Lisbon Police arrested two people and charged 11 minors and five juveniles with various liquor law violations in response to an alleged underage drinking party officers broke up Wednesday night.

According to a press release issued today, police received an anonymous tip of an underage drinking party taking place on Crest Avenue in Lisbon at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, and responded to the residence to investigate.

As a result of that investigation, police arrested Zachary Childs, 21, of Oxford, and charged him with furnishing liquor to minors, a Class D misdemeanor crime. He was transported to Androscoggin County Jail as was Elyssa Hubert, 18, of Lisbon. Hubert was arrested and charged with providing a place for illegal consumption, a Class D misdemeanor crime, and summonsed for allowing minors to possess or consume alcohol and for minor consuming alcohol.

Both Childs and Hubert are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 9 for arraignment.

Also as a result of the investigation, police report that five juveniles will be referred to the Juvenile Community Correction worker in Auburn and a decision will be made as to whether the juveniles will face court action.

“The police department has a long history of working to combat the issues of underage drinking in the community and would like to take this opportunity to remind young people and their parents of the serious consequences that can happen when youth use alcohol,” states the Lisbon Police Department in the release. “The youth at this party parked away from the residence, at a public lot, in an attempt to avoid being detected. It is believed that when the party ended, many of the youth would have returned to their vehicles to drive away, putting themselves and others at risk.”
