To the Editor:
On Aug. 27, I will be voting for Eloise Vitelli in the special election for Senate District 19.
Eloise raised her family here, was an active and involved parent as a member of the school board, and mother of two Morse High School graduates; she understands the impact of sudden changes in the funding formula that towns are wrestling with. Eloise has been active in community affairs every year, not just election years.
I will vote for Eloise because she has helped hundreds of Mainers create new businesses and jobs. It has been her life’s work. Eloise serves on the Maine Economic Growth Council, and is former president of the Midcoast Economic Development District, which gives her broad experience into how opportunities are created.
Vitelli has decades of experience bringing people together around difficult issues and competing ideas. This is exactly the kind of experience we need in Augusta right now.
Eloise Vitelli is no newcomer to working on the problems in Maine’s economy, and there is no other candidate in the field who can match her credentials or her dedication. She is honest, intelligent, extremely hard working, and will represent the will of the voters who want solutions, not gridlock.
Please join me in voting for Eloise Vitelli for Maine Senate on Aug. 27.
