To the Editor:

Wow. The response to my letter to the editor, “Veterans should vote for Paula Benoit,” (Aug. 5, Page A6) has been overwhelming. So many of your readers have called me or stopped me on the street to comment on Paula Benoit’s campaign. People who talked to me are excited about a legislator for the 19th District who will represent all the people.

To the guy who made the comment “you veterans are moochers,” enjoy your freedoms, buddy. Lots of veterans fought and died so you can make comments like that. Freedom is not free.

On the positive side, people who talked to me are looking forward to having Paula Benoit working for them in Augusta.

To Stan, you know me; I talk to you often when I’m up in the State House, usually two to three times a week. You know I watch and listen to what our legislators are doing. Your leader, Senator Goodall, is gone. We, the people in District 19, need a new champion — and Paula Benoit has been there.

Most everyone knows that if legislation is good for all people, Paula will work with both sides of the aisle.

Once again, voters in District 19, get out and vote on Aug. 27.

Remember that if you want a fair shake in Augusta, cast your vote for Paula Benoit.
