With more than 1,200 athletes racing, motorists can expect to experience delays throughout the racecourse. To ensure both athletes and motorists remain safe, police will be on-hand to direct traffic and keep people moving as efficiently as possible.

“We’re fortunate to be able to host these events that can take advantage of such a fabulous location with so many natural landmarks,” says Charlie Patten, President of Rev3. “The beauty of Old Orchard Beach and its surrounding areas offers local as well as national athletes a chance to race in such a unique location, and experience the region for all it has to offer.”

Activities for the whole family start Friday with the race expo, which runs all three days of the event. Families are also encouraged to take part in the Little Rev Family Adventure Race on Saturday. This scavenger hunt sends teams of three searching for clues, solving puzzles and completing obstacles.

Rev3 will add a brand new event to the weekend called Rev3 5KGlow & 1Mile Fun Run taking place Friday night just before sunset, running along Old Orchard Beach with glow in the dark T-shirts and glow sticks and other fun surprises. After there is an outdoor movie, popcorn, prizes and giveaways. This is a great event for everyone in the community. Rev3 also partners with local charities to help give back to the host community, donating almost $10,000 to these groups.

No race can happen without dedicated volunteers. “Our races can only happen because of the volunteers who give their time to help us make every event a success,” says Eric Opdyke, Rev3 Race Director. Interested volunteers should contact volunteer@rev3tri.com.
