BRUNSWICK — Worthy of a celebration, this year’s vacation Bible school at the Brunswick United Methodist Church is called “Happy Birthday, World!”
Preschoolers through sixthgraders from throughout the community are invited to the week-long event. Free and filled with fun, it will take place Aug. 19-23, from 5-7 p.m. nightly.
Specially created for the church community by its members, the week will be filled with one-of-a-kind children’s ministry — from unique arts and crafts activities, including mud-cloth, to musical performances, poetry writing and even puppetry. A light dinner will be served each night.
In a unique approach to VBS, children will create their own interpretations of stories of creation and imagine the animals’ experiences on Noah’s Ark. The public in invited to performances Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 25 at 10:30 a.m.
Materials and outreach for this event and for the church’s new puppet ministry are underwritten by a grant from the United Methodist Foundation of New England.
