THE MAINE AMATEUR WRESTLING ALLIANCE celebrated its 25th anniversary this past Saturday and also inducted five former wrestlers into the Maine Wrestling Hall of Fame. The inductees included Dr. Thomas Ward, Douglas Gilbert, Jon Kane, Maynard Pelletier and Rusty Smith. Also honored were the Person of Year Robert Ewing from Mt. Ararat High School, Coach of the Year Luis Ayala from Dover Foxcroft, Wrestler of the Year Dan Delgallo from Gardiner and Chuck Alexander, a past president. Over 125 attended to honor these individuals at the Hyde School in Bath. Hall of Famers, from left to right, are Kane, Smith, Pelletier, Ward and Gilbert.
