On Saturday, Sept. 7, from 5-7 p.m., the Blue Point Congregational Church, 263 Pine Point Road in Scarborough, will be holding a special benefit supper and silent auction to help Jeremy LaBelle, 37, who is a member of the church fighting a battle with cancer.

LaBelle has been diagnosed with ALK Negative Anaplastic Large T-cell Lymphoma and will begin the process of a stem cell transplant at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston on Sept. 9.

LaBelle and his wife, Shannon, live in Gorham. He is a Freemason who belongs to Deering Lodge of Portland and Triangle Lodge.

The evening of support will include a BBQ dinner prepared by the award-winning competition team from Portland Barbacoa and will include pork, salads, corn and dessert all for $10.
