BRUNSWICK — Climatologist and professor Kerry Emanuel will present a lecture on climate change at Durham Friends Meetinghouse at 7 p.m. Aug. 17
A professor of atmospheric science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Emanuel will discuss his scientific findings on climate change and what it could mean, including the frequency and severity of hurricanes.
He also discuss potential ways people can counter the increasing effects of global warming. Emanuel, who is politically conservative and a Republican, was heralded in 2006 by Time magazine as one of the world’s most influential scientists.
Durham Friends Meetinghouse is at 534 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, at Route 125. Admission to the talk is free and the public is welcome.
