BATH — The City Council discussed the development of an adult business ordinance Wednesday that would place limits on establishments such as strip clubs.

The Council voted 6-2 on May 1 to approve a moratorium that temporarily prohibits, for six months, licenses and permits for so-called “adult-use establishments.” Drafts of the new rules would limit adult businesses such as strip clubs exclusively to U.S. Route 1, with licenses renewed annually.

On Wednesday, Councilor David Sinclair told colleagues he had several amendments which would need time to be considered.
