Larry was born on March 27, 1916, to Helen Webber and Peter J. DuPont.
A World War II Navy veteran, Lawrence was multitalented and could fix almost anything. For 50 years he operated his own air conditioning/power burner service. He was a past president of the Tri City Fish & Game and Tri City Pistol Club. His greatest joy in his life was being married to Eleanor Cunningham, who died in 2006.
He was predeceased by his son, John H. DuPont, and his siblings Louise Marquis, Lillian DuPont, Evelyn Sutter and John and James DuPont.

Lawrence was very fond of his neighbors, Ann and Melvin Lunt, who were always very kind to him.
At Lawrence’s request, no services will be held at this time. Interment will take place privately in Georgetown.
The family would like to thank the staff at both Lakewood Manor and Inland Hospital for their compassionate care.
Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church St., Augusta.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
