BRUNSWICK — Sylvan Learning Centers of Maine has announced the grand opening of the Sylvan Satellite location in Brunswick.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8. The community is invited to attend, meet Sylvan’s director, instructors and observe how instruction is done. Refreshments will be served.
According to a news release, instruction will be take place in the classrooms at Southern New Hampshire University located at Cook’s Corner.
The Brunswick location is the first of its kind in the state. Satellite locations are made possible through the new SylvanSync program delivered through a private iPad app. Students start with a Skills assessment which reveals a pupil’s strengths and weaknesses, leading to the student’s own individualized learning plan so a teacher knows exactly where to start. Ipads are supplied by Sylvan.
Sylvan incorporates the Skills assessment, individualized learning plan and teacher-led instruction that have served Sylvan students in Maine for the past 20 years.
