Whew, a busy season and I’m just catching up on the July 5th edition of Lakes Region Weekly.

Please know how pleased I am to see such clear writings realistically describing Maine’s continued fall into the abyss of overspending/overtaxing.

Do the readers realize Maine is a “Death Spiral State” partially for the very reasons outlined in the Lane Hiltunen column and your two guest columnists, Sen. Gary Plummer and Rep. Mike McClellan? All three columns clearly explain how the increased sales tax designed by this 126th Legislature has, once again, left Mainers paying even more for goods and services. Thus your money will not go as far, yet again.

How did your senator and representative vote? If they voted to override the governor’s veto of the budget, they voted to raise taxes on your purchases.
