BRUNSWICK — Several local organizations will sponsor anti-fraud education Aug. 20, 1 p.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 132 McKeen Street.
“How to Avoid Scams, Telephone and Internet Fraud” is free admission to attendees of all ages. “We will learn about current scams and the warning signs of scams that target older adults,” said Amy Ford, Faith Formation director at Portland Diocese.
Connie Lewis Hooker of Merrymeeting Bay Triad, a senior safety organization; Lindsay Laxon with the Maine Office of Securities; and Brunswick Police Deputy Chief Marc Hagan are scheduled to give the presentation.
