BRUNSWICK
Police subdued an 18-year-old student at the Spurwink School after she assaulted a staff member Tuesday morning.
Patrol Officers Russell Wrede and Patrick Mahar answered the call shortly before 10 a.m. When they arrived, they had to physically restrain the female student until she could be taken by ambulance to Mid Coast Hospital for evaluation.
No charges have been filed and no serious injuries were reported.
Spurwink Services operates numerous schools in the region, catering to youths with mental or emotional conditions that make learning in conventional classrooms impossible.
