BATH

A convicted sex offender was arrested at the request of his parole officer Sunday.

Joseph Plummer, 21, is a convicted sex offender whose conditions of probation do not allow him contact with young children. He attended the Bath Heritage Days festivities, and his parole officer believed that contact with children was inevitable at the venue, so he was ordered to be taken into custody on a charge of violating probation.

Plummer, who told police he lives in Alna, was transported to Two Bridges Jail. Bath police said they do not believe Plummer had any contact with children at the event.
