While the all-new Sorento keeps its familiar looks, it has been intensively redesigned.
Take a quick look at South Korean automaker Kia, and it is obvious that the car manufacturer is growing faster than ever before. The chief Kia designer, German-born Peter Schreyer, was recently promoted as one of the presidents of the company. It’s no wonder, as he has been instrumental in creating some of Kia’s most spectacular cars, especially the modest Rio, a sub-compact car that has classy looks. The Soul, a unique-looking CUV, has been revised, as was the popular Forte, whose complete redesign was recently revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Kia’s reputation has grown even bigger since the introduction of the latest generation of Optima mid-sized sedans, some of the segment’s most modern designs. The Optimas come with a regular or turbocharged fourcylinder engine or with a hybrid motor. We can also expect to see the all-new full-sized Cadenza to hit Kia showrooms soon. Kia is also a popular light truck manufacturer. Its most recent compact SUV, the Sportage, needs little introduction, as its success on the market is now undeniable. The mid-sized Sorento, which has also known quite a good success, has recently been restyled both inside and out. It gets a new, more powerful-yet-economical V-6 engine that should set it apart from the competition. Keep an eye on Kia, folks. If the pattern holds, this is an automaker that will continue to surprise us well into the future.
