FREEPORT — Police are looking for someone who broke into the Amatto’s at 114 Maiin St. either late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
Lt. Susan Nourse said this morning that an employee reported the burglary after reporting to work early Thursday morning, at around 6:30.
Officer Thomas Gabbard found that someone had pryed open the steel rear door, and then pryed open the safe, Nourse said. Nourse did not divulge the amount of money stolen.
Amatto’s is open for business until 9 p.m.
