GRAY — The National Weather Service Office in Gray said the severe thunderstorm warning that was issued earlier Sunday evening has been lifted.

Meteorologist Tom Hawley said the warning covered Oxford, Androscoggin and northwest Cumberland counties.

Hawley said that as of 9:30 p.m. he had not received any confirmed reports of damage caused by those storms.

Hawley said severe thunderstorms can produce lightning, one-inch diameter hail and wind gusts of more than 60 mph.

Hawley said the storms swept into Maine from New Hampshire.
