FREEPORT — Freeport High School, Freeport Middle School and Durham Elementary announced awards recipients for spring sports.
Freeport High School
Baseball — Connor Dietrich (Heart of the Falcon), Brian Rhea (Falcon Pride), Brady Davis (Booster’s Pride & Character), Dan Burke (J. Mickey Kovall 1977).
Nick Cartmell, Dietrich and Jack Davenport were named to the Western Maine Conference Second Team, while Cole Harrison was Honorable Mention.
Also, Parth Partel and Caleb Rice (Jayvee Athletic Excellence) and AJ Daniel (Jayvee BP&C).
Softball — Leigh Wyman (Outstanding Player), Hannah Chase (Coaches), Paige Bushy (BP&C). Wyman was named WMC First Team.
Kayley Johnson and Elizabeth Weist received the Jayvee BP&C Award, while Samantha Hart the Jayvee BP&C Award.
Boys lacrosse — Griffin Breer and Clayton Morrison (Head, Heart and Hustle), Tucker Troast (BP&C), Jared Polley (Jayvee Athletic Excellence) and Zach Owen (Jayvee BP&C).
Girls lacrosse — Shelby Sawyer (Most Improved), Jocelyn Davee (Most Valuable Player), Aubrey Pennell (BP&C).
Molly Lane was named WMC First Team, Pennell WMC Second Team and Davee WMC Honorable Mention, Senior All-Star Game and U.S. Lacrosse All-Academic Team. Emily Sturtevant (U.S Lacrosse All-Academic).
Also, Fionna Ahearn and Samantha Jordan (Jayvee Athletic Excellence) and Brooklyn Washburn (Jayvee BP&C).
Boys tennis — Chris West (Outstanding Singles Player), Ryder Bennell (Outstanding Doubles Player), Callum Gould (BP&C).
Abrin Berkemeyer was named WMC Second Team, while Connor McLellan the WMC Doubles Team.
Girls tennis — Kayley Johnson (Coaches), Katie McClelland (Most Improved), Laura Biefeldt (BP&C). McClelland was named WMC Second Team.
Track and Field — Kelsey Grant and Victor Skorapa (Finish Line), Chloe Hight and Nick Wilson (Starting Block), Hannah Schnyder and Eric Wentworth (BP&C).
Grant, Lucy Zachau, Luke Spaulding, Harrison Stivers and Skorapa were named WMC First Team, while Elly Bengtsson and Grant were also Second Team picks for their events.
State champions were Dietrich (200-meter dash) and Stivers (400, 800).
All-Sport Boosters Senior Athlete of the Year — Davee, Dietrich.
WMC All- Academic — Ciera Wentworth (track and field), Daniel Burke, Brady Davis, Dietrich and James Purdy (baseball), Davee (lacrosse), Berkemeyer, McLellan (boys tennis) and Sophie Smith (girls tennis).
All- Sports Boosters Scholarships — Davee, Wentworth, Dietrich, Berkemeyer, Wyman and Burke, while James Purdy received the Campbell Conference Football Scholarship.
Durham community
Tiger Pride Awards — Evan Marquis, Matt Nielson and Joey Burke (baseball); Kaylee Larochelle, Megan Cormier, Abby Turner (softball); Henry Jacques, Ryan Olson, McKenzie Rogers (track).
