BATH — Sharon Drake Real Estate defeated BMDA 7- 2 to clinch the Bath Cal Ripken Baseball city championship on Monday.
BMDA jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning on singles by Lucas Groat and Nate Ewald.
The winners rallied in the bottom of the inning to score three on a double by Nicco Bartone, who was driven in by Jack Harrington, and a two-run home run by Lucas Osterhout.
BMDA scored again in the top of the third when Miles Bobbe drove in Groat with a double. Sharon Drake responded in the bottom of the frame when Harrington doubled and was driven home by Osterhout with a crisp single.
Sharon Drake finished out the scoring in the bottom of the fifth on a single by Jordan Douglas, followed by a Bartone home run.
Osterhout closed out the scoring with his second home run of the night deep to center field.
Groat went the distance pitching for BMDA, giving up one walk and striking out one.
Osterhout, Austin, Magliozzi, Bartone and Harrington pitched for the Champions, combining for five strikeouts and two walks.
Isaiah Cogswell and Bobbe played strong defense for BMDA, while Douglas and Jack Leonard shined for the winners.
