BATH — The 12th annual Blue and White Golf Classic was held at the Bath Golf Club on Friday.

Over 180 sponsors and 200 golfers contributed $59,000 to the Morse High School Scholarship fund in the name of this year’s 50th Morse High School reunion class, the Class of 1963.

Opening festivities around the first tee included the recognition of this year’s Morse High School scholarship recipients, the playing of “The Blue and the White” and the National Anthem by the Morse High School band, and the naming of this year’s Honorary Team, the Stover family.

Twelve years ago Brud Stover, Morse High School Class of 1953, initiated the first Blue and White Golf Classic. Through his vision, the number of teams has expanded to 40, five-person teams, and now heading toward 200 sponsors who donate anywhere from $100 to a personal high this year from the Class of 1963 of $12,500.

Brud Stover died last October, but his vision lives on. Over the past 12 tournaments, almost $400,000 has been donated to the Morse High School Scholarship Fund, which has now benefited over 100 Morse graduating seniors.
