Navy Lt. Robert J. Gensheimer, son of Kathleen F. and Gregory G. Gensheimer of Bath, recently participated in a change of command on board the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99), Naval Station Mayport, Fla.
Gensheimer is a 2004 graduate of Yarmouth High School and joined the Navy in June 2004. He is a 2010 graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass., with a master of science degree and a 2008 graduate of U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., with a bachelor of science degree.
He and other sailors recently completed basic phase training, composite training unit exercise with the Dwight D. Carrier Strike Group, and 2012-13 deployment to the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation.
