WEST BATH — The Dzogchen Meditation Center presents “The Heart of the Matter,” a four-day retreat June 13-16 or a 10-day Shamatha/ Vipashyana Retreat from Sept. 6-15.
Shamatha/Vipashayana or mindfulness and awareness practice forms the core of all meditation practices available in the Buddhist tradition.
The Shamatha-Vipashyana retreats at the Dzogchen Meditation Center follow the forms for practice developed by the Tibetan Meditation Master Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in conjunction with the Soto Lineage of Zen Buddhism. There will be eight to 10 hours of meditation practice each day, walking meditation and oryoki meals in the shrine room.
This will be a residential retreat held at the center at 4 Armstrong Way.
There are no prerequisites but people should be aware that this is an intensive retreat. The cost is $40 per day.
