BATH — The Morse High School baseball team pounded out 15 hits in a 12-7 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B victory over Nokomis on Tuesday.
The Shipbuilders improved to 12-3 and visit Camden Hills today in their regular-season finale.
Chris Paulus launched his third home run, and second in two days, and Paul Whalen went 4-for-4, including a tworun single in the first inning as Morse jumped on top 3-0.
Nokomis answered with a two-run home run by Connor Allen in the second, but Trenton Moore’s RBI single in the bottom of the frame made for a 4-2 contest.
Paulus’ two-run home run in the third and an Aaron Doughty run-scoring single gave the Shipbuilders some breathing room, and Morse put the game away with a four-run sixth highlighted by a two-run doubled by Paulus and a two-run single by Zach Holbrook, who earned the mound win on 10 strikeouts.
Liam McDonough doubled, singled and scored two runs for Morse.
Allen was 3-for-3 and picked up three RBIs, while Justin Kasprzak was 2-for-4 for Nokomis.

Jordan Whitney launched a three-run home run to break a tie in the fifth inning as the host Cougars took the KVAC tilt at Farmington.
Brad Jackson also homered for Mt. Blue (4-12), while Andrew Pratt singled twice.
Whitney tossed a one-hitter with nine walks and 11 strikeouts.
Trent Charnock singled for the Eagles’ lone hit. Reid Drouin and Ellison Etnier combined on the mound for six hits and six strikeouts.
Mt. Ararat is 3-12 and slated to host rival Brunswick today at 3 p.m.
LISBON 1
MTN. VALLEY 2
Colin Merrill crushed a solo home run to lead Mountain Valley to an important Mountain Valley Conference baseball win over Lisbon.
Merrill and Dylan Akers each smacked two hits each on the day, with Akers adding a triple. Adam Volkernick took the win on the mound for the Falcons (8-6) with a complete game and 11 strikeouts.
Kyle Bourget threw five innings for the Greyhounds (5-11) and provided the only extra base hit for Lisbon with a double. Tucker Brannon relieved Bourget on the mound in the fifth.
WISCASSET 1
WINTHROP 8
Winthrop scored seven combined runs in the fourth and fifth innings, and winning pitcher Jared Hanson struck out six batters as the Ramblers (12-2) beat the Wolverines in MVC play.
Ben Caprara and Dan Allen each tripled, and Allen drove in a run. Mario Meucci smacked an RBI double in the fourth inning.
For Wiscasset (5-10, scheduled to host Spruce Mountain today), Ben Chadwick had two hits.
RICHMOND 2
SAC. VALLEY 13
The visiting Bobcats committed seven errors leading to nine unearned runs in a loss to Class Sacopee Valley (7-9) at Hiram.
Mike Stewart pitched for Richmond (5-7). He allowed 10 hits, walked two and struck out three. Only four runs were earned.
Eddie Stewart singled and doubled, and Randy Moody singled to account for Richmond’s three hits.
Kyle Jordan had a double, home run and drove in three runs for the Hawks, while Devin Day singled twice. Nick York and Anthony Haskell combined on eight strikeouts and two walks in the win.
Richmond is slated to close out its regular season today at home against Greater Portland Christian.
