A 15-year-old boy who allegedly brought a pocket knife to Morse High School on May 20 returned to the school, broke in and vandalized it sometime Wednesday night, police said.

Police received a call from school officials at 6:11 a.m. Thursday.

Bath police Lt. Bob Savary said school officials discovered someone had smashed in the front door and vandalized the inside, breaking windows and causing other damage.

“The staff looked at video and saw he had a mask on, but identified his mannerisms,” Savary said. “Officers went to his house, saw he had on the same clothes as in the video, and arrested him for burglary.”

Savary said police later released the boy to the custody of his parents. The boy faces a July 1 court date, and his case is being handled by a juvenile probation officer.

School officials do not comment on personal matters, and Savary would not say if the boy had been suspended. There was no immediate cost estimate of the damage.

“He was disgruntled with the school,” Savary said, “and we believe that is the reason he broke into the school and vandalized it.

Police confiscated the boy’s knives and notified his parents after the May 20 incident, Savary said.
