AUGUSTA — Shirley Jean Bourgoin, age 73, slipped gently into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2013, after a hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on Dec. 6, 1939, to Hazen and Dorothy (Kingsley) Knight.

She graduated from Cony High School, class of 1957, and worked for the state of Maine for 35 years, retiring in 2002.

Shirley loved to go to Ainslee’s Market on Thursday evenings to see all of the antique cars. She especially enjoyed the lunchtime gatherings with her former classmates.

Shirley was a member of the Cushnoc Senior Citizens, was a Hospice Volunteer, and was a Cub Scout den mother when her children were young.

Her grandchildren were the loves of her life and they will miss her dearly.
