WEST BATH — Compass Point Academy students returned from New York as first-place winners in the Accelerated Christian Education Regional Competition.
The contest included students from all over New England and New York. More than 200 students competed in a choice of 140 categories covering academics, science, drama, athletics and the arts.
Rebecca Giarratano, Brandon Giarratano and Alyssa Gilbert received first-place medals for Media, Needlework, Art and Drama.
Don and Gayla Maguire retired after 18 years as regional reps and turned the reins over to a former student, Adam Rondeau, who continued his education and became principal of Southbridge Academy — a school the Maguires founded in 1982. Principal Rondeau was a multiple winner in both regional and international levels during his high school years.
“We all have such a passion to ignite students to achieve their highest potential, and this competition, along with the individual education program offered by Compass Point Academy, is how we achieve it,” the Maguires stated.
CPA is now enrolling students for fall semester. For more information, call 443- 1300.
