RICHMOND — Rescuers responded to a crash reported this morning near River and Beedle roads.

The crash was reported at approximately 9 a.m.

Richmond police Officer Josh Staples said a Suzuki Sidekick driven by Dylan Wallace, 18, of Richmond, crossed the oncoming lane of travel, hit and went over the guardrail and down an embankment, rolling a couple times on the way down.

Both air bags deployed, Staples said.

Wallace and a passenger, Brian Simpson, 25, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. Staples said the driver told him he wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and the passenger didn’t remember if he was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle was totaled, Staples said. No charges were issued.
