PORTLAND — Time to get those big ideas on paper. Start building your idea, designing your booth and take your idea to Elevator Pitch investors. Kids can register online at www.buildabiz.me.
According to a news release, the first 500 youth to complete and submit their business plan questionnaire online receive a free Build A Biz T-shirt to wear on Build A Biz Day slated for May 19, a $5 Bangor Savings Bank coupon and more.
The top three best entrepreneurial ideas will have a chance to compete in the first annual Elevator Pitch competition on May 7 on television’s CTN CH 5, “Baldacci on Business,” for services and a chance to win a $1,000 college scholarship.
Build A Biz Day is a statewide event that teaches youth the skills they need to help them to be successful in the future.
“Imagine hundreds of youth businesses open on May 19 throughout the state and run by Maine’s future entrepreneurs,” said founder/director Kate Krukowski Gooding.
Sponsors for this year’s event include Bangor Savings Bank, Commercial Properties Management, Pro Search, Inc., VIA, Flyte Media, Maine Hosting Solutions, NE Media, GWI, Maine & Co., Hannaford, VIA, and Macaroni Kid.
