BRUNSWICK
Almost four months after water pipes burst and the resulting damage closed Pedro O’Hara’s, owner Troy Kavanaugh says the restaurant is almost ready to reopen.
Renovation of the business’s basement space at 115 Maine St., below Richard’s Restaurant, is nearing completion.
District 4 Councilor and contractor John Perreault is managing the repairs. He confirmed Monday afternoon that the project would be done by May 1.
Kavanaugh appeared before the council later Monday, during a public hearing to renew his license to serve alcohol.
“We can’t wait to get open,” Kavanaugh said. “It’s going to be bigger and better, as much as you can do with a basement, and I’m very excited about having us open next week.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
