SOUTH PORTLAND – South Portland police have made an arrest in the robbery of a TD Bank branch late Monday afternoon.

Police arrested Joseph Morrill, 23, of South Portland, and charged him with class A robbery. He was arrested at around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday at 231 Broadway.

Police say a man entered the bank at 9 Market St. at around 5:30. He approached a teller and demanded cash while in possession of a handgun, police said. The man then fled with a “small amount” of cash.

The man was described as white, around 6-feet tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black baseball hat, jeans, and white sneakers. He also had on a mask that covered half of his face and black, mechanic-type gloves.
