BRUNSWICK — After 12 years at its current Lincoln Street location, Greater Brunswick Physical Therapy (GBPT) will be moving its Brunswick office to the Red Mill in Topsham as of April 1.
GBPT will be the first tenant in the new brick building situated next to the Sea Dog Restaurant. In addition to private treatment rooms, a fully equipped gym and an expanded reception area, the new office overlooks the Androscoggin River.
The address will be 11 Bowdoin Mill Island, suite 220, Topsham 04086.
“The new facility is designed with the comfort and convenience of our patients in mind,” said GBPT coowner
Peter Cooper. “The expanded space and open gym area will help us provide patients a well-rounded PT experience in a relaxing and welcoming environment.”
GBPT was established 25 years ago by co-owner/therapist Donna Maria Bordeaux with the goal of providing a safe and comfortable environment for compassionate care. Today, the company has offices in Brunswick, Bath, Auburn and Harpswell.
GBPT offers a wide range of hands-on treatments, blending traditional and “alternative” treatment approaches. Available treatments include Myofascial release, integrative manual therapy, visceral mobilization, crainiosacral therapy, strain-counterstrain techniques, neural tension techniques, Kinesiotaping, and extensive exercise programs tailored to each patient. GBPT also offers an Aquatic Therapy Program at the Bath YMCA.
“We’re excited to expand our services and be able to offer patient care in a beautiful, natural setting,” said Bordeaux. “The new location embodies our philosophy of providing holistic, comprehensive and quality care to each individual.”
GBPT will be featured on the May 4 episode of Emmy-nominated “incredibleMAINE” on the Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN) at 10:30 a.m. The holistic health care organization is being highlighted for its dedication to wellness and its community outreach.
This past December, GBPT was recognized as the 2012 “Business of the Year” for medium-sized businesses by the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber. This is the second time GBPT has earned recognition, having also been honored as the SMMC Small Business of the Year in 1997.
