BRUNSWICK — Kathy Mackenzie from the Mobil Puffin Stop on Pleasant Street in Brunswick recently awarded St. John’s Catholic School a $500 grant from the Exxon- Mobil Educational Alliance Program.
According to a news release, the program is designed to provide Exxon and Mobil retailers with the opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools. Exxon- Mobil believes that local retailers, as members of the community, are best qualified to work with their community educators to support educational initiatives.
Since 2000, the program has contributed more than $20 million to local schools through its local retailers.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
