CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The University of Southern Maine Huskies women’s lacrosse team overcame an early 4-0 deficit and went on to defeat the M.I.T. Engineers 15-11 in the teams’ season-opening game Saturday at Roberts Stadium.
Junior Rosie Forster led a balanced USM offense, scoring three goals.
Sam Purcell of Durham had two goals in the win.
Southern Maine is scheduled to play its home opener on Thursday (3:30 p.m.) when it hosts the University of New England at Hannaford Field.
