BANGOR — The top high school senior basketball student/athletes in the state will join together for the Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star Basketball Weekend Friday and Saturday at Newman Gymnasium on the campus of Husson University.
The event is a salute to the top high school senior student-athletes and coaches from across Maine. More than 100 individuals representing 67 high schools will be honored for their achievements both on and off the basketball court at the All-Star Banquet on Friday night and during the All-Star games on Saturday.
Tickets for the games on Saturday are available at the door. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
Net proceeds from tickets, souvenir sales and programs go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Maine.
Saturday’s schedule has the State Foul Shooting Championships at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Boys C/D game at 9:15 a.m., Slam Dunk competition at 10:30 a.m., Boys A/B game at 11 a.m., Girls A/B game at 12:45 p.m., 3-Point Shooting Contest at 2 p.m. and Girls C/D contest at 2:30 p.m.
Selected to compete from the Midcoast region are Mallory Nelson of Mt. Ararat (A/B East girls), Denise Thomas of Lisbon (C/D West girls) and Jamie Plummer of Richmond (C/D West girls), while Molly Bishop of Richmond will be one of the C/D West coaches.
