BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department is hosting two girls youth basketball tournaments over the weekend.
In girls sixth-grade action, the 11- team event gets under way Friday at 4:30 p.m. with Ararat/East John Thunder, followed by Brunswick/Camden at 5:40 p.m. and Windham/Boothbay at 6:50 p.m.
Action picks up Saturday at 9:45 a.m. with Rockland/Richmond. Games continue throughout, with the semifinals set for 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on Sunday and the title game at 3:15 p.m.
The fifth-grade event features six teams, and action gets under way at 8 p.m. on Friday with Freeport/Wells.
Auburn and Brunswick hook up Saturday at 8:30 a.m., with semifinals set for 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. and the championship game at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Oxford Hills and Falmouth are also competing.
