POWNAL — On March 10, the North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, will sponsor a public supper and concert.
The meal will be served at 5 p.m., followed by New Wine in concert. Admission is free, but a free-will offering will be taken.
For information, call Pastor Ray St. Pierre at 837-0682 or Deb Larrabee at 240-1637.
New Wine is a Christian band featuring Mario Blais (bass guitar/vocals), David Chick (electric guitar/vocals), Roger Cusson (drums), Vickie O’Brien (acoustic guitar/ vocals), Dick Waters (piano/ guitar/vocals) and Judy Cusson (sound engineering).
New Wine is made up of “mature” Christian believers of varied background, whose vision is to refresh the church, body of Christ, through a contemporary mix of old and new, and some original songs, put together in a service of fellowship and testimonies, according to a news release. “We are not ‘professional’ musicians, per se, but strive to give the best of our talents as an offering in concert.
“Over the past year, we have had the privilege of being invited to play our unique brand of music with a message at community events where we were the only overtly Christian voice, including the ‘Bands on the Run’ halfmarathon and a ‘Battle of the Bands,’ with good reception and feedback.”
