PORTLAND — Mike Redding has joined the WCSH 6 (Portland) and WLBZ 2 (Bangor) team as news director.
Redding comes to Maine from Gannett Broadcasting’s WFMY-TV (Greensboro, N.C.), where he served as executive producer. Redding was the managing editor at WDBJ-TV (Roanoke, Va.), and a writing coach/reporter/producer at WCNC-TV (Charlotte).
“We are very excited to have someone of Mike’s caliber leading our news organization into the future,” said Steve Carter, president and general manager. “Mike is familiar with the News Center brand, and his credentials will only strengthen our broadcast and digital positions in the market.”
Redding has been recognized throughout his career with 28 Emmys, two national Edward R. Murrow Awards, 11 regional Murrows, and 11 Associated Press awards, according to a news release.
